Sumatran Gliding Lizard

Common name: Sumatran Gliding Lizard

Science name: Draco sumatranus

Features: Sumatran gliding lizard has a slender body, a dorsal with brown and light brown spots, and a patagium that is black with brown spots. Male Sumatran gliding lizards have bright yellow gular flag and some parts of their heads are blue. Females have blue gular flag instead.

Habitats: Sumatran gliding lizard can be found in the margins of sunlit forest and urban areas in southern Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, as far as Sumatra and Borneo, including the Philippine Island of Palawan.

Behavior: Sumatran gliding lizard feeds both day and night in trees and can glide from tree to tree.

Diet: Ants and termites are their main diet.
